Position Description:

Primary Functions

  • Adapts bioinformatics tools, visualization packages, and annotation resources for research projects to independently and accurately perform research analysis.
  • Independently provides troubleshooting for data generation and processing. Implements triaging and generates reports.
  • Assist with the evaluation, interpretation and assessment of data, quality control metrics, calculations, and statistics.
  • Record and compile accurate records and communicate summaries of research results.
  • Develops, implements, and refines bioinformatic workflows and tools for analyzing and visualizing high-dimensional genomics data and adapting their outputs to interface with structural bioinformatics modeling.
  • Maintains a professional level of knowledge of genetics and at least one focused topic related to NGS-based systems biology or chromatin remodeling enzymes.
  • Leads the analysis and writing for a portfolio of projects, prioritized by the team and Director.
  • Participate in team meetings with the mentor and principal investigator.




Preferred Schedule:




Open schedule, 40 hours per week



Position Requirements:

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

  • Knowledge of basic data collection principles, biostatistics, data wrangling and visualization, principles of NGS data, sequencing, and the interpretation of results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present analysis to the group and externally, through research presentations and papers.
  • Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree

Minimum Required Experience: No experience required

Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree

Preferred Experience: NGS-based systems biology to maintain state-of-the-art analyses and workflows.
