Description
This is a Full-Time (80 hours every two weeks) benefited and remote position. Must be local in San Diego or willing to relocate. The work schedule will include working one Saturday or Sunday per week and come onsite if needed. The Coder I is responsible for correct and timely coding of all medical records utilizing appropriate systems. Codes procedures, diagnoses or conditions, working from the appropriate medical record. May provide instructions to lower level coders as needed. Converts diagnosis and procedure data from patient medical record to ICD-9-CM/ICD-10 or similar coding scheme. Completes reimbursement or data abstraction forms for submission to appropriate parties. Identifies and sequences the diagnoses and procedures following all medical necessity guidelines. Meets productivity and quality standards. Interacts with physicians and other staff to clarify documentation. Qualifications
