This position is responsible will operate straight or articulated rubber-tired compact loader equipped with front mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials and palletized material to and from dump trucks, pickups, and or flatbed type trailers. Position will also operate forklift and assist in ticketing and customer service as needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS



  1. High school education/GED, or
  2. Up to one month related experience or training, or
  3. Equivalent combination of education and experience.


DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Uses safe work procedures that comply with safety policies and regulations. (Federal, state, local and company policies.)
  2. Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader.
  3. Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material or pallet forks into a pallet.
  4. Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket or pallet forks when filled, drives vehicle to safely load a truck or trailer.
  5. Be able to drive a forklift and payloader and load material onto customers equipment safely.
  6. Obey all safety rules and work in a safe manner.
  7. Responsible to maintain a neat and accurate inventory.
  8. Assist in inventory control and ordering with sales staff.
  9. Performs routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning and reports anything unsafe to the Location Lead.
  10. Learn the various landscaping products by styles, colors and sizes to be able to load the correct product for our customers.
  11. Work directly with customers to load material into their vehicles.
  12. Accurately palletize pavers or retaining wall products for customers.
  13. Will be involved with machine loading and hand loading specific natural stone products.
  14. Will be asked to clean, sweep, dust, and maintain overall yard and shop cleanliness.
  15. Receive incoming inventory and store correctly.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned, such as computer work, ticket creating, answering phone calls, taking notes, etc.
  17. Will be cross trained as back up to the customer service representative.
  18. Other duties as assigned.


The typical schedule during production is M-F 7am-5pm. 2-3 Saturdays per month from 8am-noon. Typical hours during maintenance are M-F 8am-4pm.
