Department of Biomedical Sciences Job Description
The Department of Biomedical Sciences at UMKC's School of Medicine wants to recruit an outstanding candidate for an Administrative Assistant position to assist the Department Chair and Associate Dean for Research and to provide administrative assistance to the Biomedical Science Faculty. The is a full time in person position and duties of the administrative assistant will be to: * Manage the Department Chair and Associate Dean for Research Calendar
* Skillfully respond to faculty, staff and students, invited speakers, visitors or service personnel related inquires in person and over the phone by offering accurate and useful solutions to address needs * Coordinate meeting using ZOOM or GoToMeeting for faculty, the Department Chair and Associate Dean for Research * Maintain accurate budget records and assist with expense reports. * Manage online ordering for the department and research faculty * Edit documents and reports - must have excellent written skills. * Provide administrative research assistance to faculty at School of Medicine * Maintain and aid with mail, and multi-purpose fax machines * Assist in annual research events, such as poster sessions, conferences, seminar series. * Proctor student exams. * Organize speaker lists, lunches and other events events such as the Research Seminar Series and assists speakers when they arrive. * For Student research, maintain the web site, coordinated student submission of posters and talks online, organized judges' schedules, collect judges scores and collated the result. * Manipulate files on Canvas. * Other duties as needed Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years administrative experience. Knowledge of Canvas, excel, or UM system digital web applications are a plus but not required. Must have excellent written and communication skills. Must be able to multitask efficiently. Anticipated Hiring Range
$15.00 - $20.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity. Application Deadline
