Description

Dunwoody College of Technology is currently seeking an Adjunct Instructor in the Architecture Program. Successful candidates will have a high level of technical competency and professional experience relevant to the course, as well as a desire to reinforce the mission and vision of the Program.


PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Each position is responsible for initiating the teaching and learning process with a focus on continuous improvement; creating an environment in which students can accomplish the learning competencies of the course of instruction; maintaining, updating, designing and developing new curriculum. The result should be students' abilities to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, ethics, and use of proper tools to strengthen the profession.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS



  • Maintain curriculum within the college's worldwide instructional design system.
  • Instill professional principles, skills, and work ethics.
  • Foster a studio culture in line with the Program's policies.
  • Monitor and assess technical and academic progress and performance through college attendance and grading recording systems.
  • Evolve established curriculum for the assigned course of instruction.
  • Other duties as assigned

Description: Housing Studio examines opportunities by rethinking how we build, maintain, and occupy structures through a housing project. Emphasis is placed on modern construction techniques, building materials, and processes. Gain an effective understanding of design flexibility and a sense of community and place-making through site context and barrier-free design.

ARCH4110 Research & Culture

Description: Apply architectural research to design while engaging a real world client and project. Employ an inclusive and participatory design process through engagement with various community stakeholders. Examine the relationship of architecture to public process and community development.

ARCH5110 Integrative Design

Description: Integrate site, regulatory, and program elements to create an architectural work. Demonstrate design intent within the design and development of building systems. Demonstrate integrative design through varying forms of architectural representation.

Qualifications

Faculty teaching at the baccalaureate degree level in architecture will

meet one of the following qualifications:



  • A master's degree in architecture or related field; OR
  • A bachelor's degree in architecture or related field and 18-graduate credits in architecture or related field; OR
  • A professional bachelor's degree in architecture and professional licensure
