Maintenance and Engineering Manager

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership to the Maintenance group and ensure the department operates safely and efficiently.
  • Manage engineering capital projects and project timelines from inception through to completion. (Scope, cost, justification, and timing)
  • Provide project management tools to standardize project execution, timelines, spend forecast, equipment cost/benefit comparisons, and punch lists.
  • Provide technical expertise in downstream bottle handling, palletizing, and infrastructure as key technical resource for the plant.
  • Development of training, documentation for equipment and best demonstrated manufacturing methodology. Preventative and Predictive Maintenance schedules.
  • Update and maintain plant infrastructure assessments and layouts through in-line measurements, 3rd party assessments and drawing data base.
  • Update and maintain plant's safety programs (LOTO, Arc Flash)
  • Monitor and prioritize maintenance spending to ensure timely repairs at the best value.
  • Oversees and participates in ongoing training program for subordinates and key employees.
  • Assist in development of annual plant budget.
  • Promote and define best practices for plant efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Programming of PLC's and Controls
  • Develops opportunities to reduce costs or improve performance through effective capital planning and/or workflow design.
  • Oversees and participates in ongoing training programs for subordinates and key employees through external and internal resources.

EDUCATION:

Required: BS in Electrical Engineering

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 5 years or greater track record of successful management Engineering projects - new equipment installations, plant infrastructure projects, and/or new facility design

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in operations in the plastic containers industry
  • Demonstrated cost estimate development and installation experience in new plant builds, plant infrastructure projects and new technologies.
  • Expertise in plant infrastructure - building and utilities, air compressors, warehousing.
  • Expertise in plastic bottle handling, inspection systems and automated packing.

SKILLS:

Required:

  • Ladder logic and control systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PP, Teams)
  • Analytical problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills
  • AutoCAD for plant layout drawings & equipment design
