SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES The primary role of the Database Engineer III is to ensure the performance, integrity, and security of the banks databases and database infrastructure. This includes the planning and development of the databases, as well as troubleshooting any issues and maintenance activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for maintaining databases across the bank network Work with the Database Architect on the design of the DB infrastructure Participate in establishing processes and best practices around development standards, version control, quality control, deployment, maintenance and change management In charge of the setup, installation and maintenance MS SQL database and servers - including SQL Patches Analyze business requirements and design and implement data models, database structures and fine tune database performance to meet those requirements Monitor user access and security, performance and manage parameters to provide optimal responses to front end applications Regular communication with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security Developing, managing, and testing back-up, recovery, and high availability plans (mirroring) Controlling access permissions and privileges Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata) Ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly Capacity planning Perform all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department Accepts other duties as assigned. COMPETENCIES

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a closely related field is preferred. Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in a production environment. Must have strong analytical skills to perform thorough, detailed, and independent examinations on systems. Knowledge of structured query language (SQL and database management systems (DBMS), Powershell, Windows Server, VMware Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Good interpersonal skills, good computer skills, ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able sit for long periods of time. Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports.
WORK ENVIRONMENT This position is located in a cubicle environment that may be loud throughout the day. Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered. Travel may be required to come to meetings as needed.
In accordance with Colorado law: Colorado pay for this position is anticipated to be between $94,510.99 - $150,972.31 , actual offers to be determined based on applicant's skills, experience and education.
