HIRING RANGE: $59,142 - $66,537 Annually

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Center for Student Wellness and Support, the Clinical Support Coordinator provides both direct counseling services and care coordination for students. This integrated position supports students through individual counseling sessions, addressing mental health needs, and managing social support services. The Clinical Support Coordinator serves a diverse student population, addressing issues such as mental health crises, housing insecurity, food scarcity, and more. The role involves creating tailored action plans, maintaining a caseload of clients, facilitating access to resources, and ensuring follow-up for student success. They also contribute to the development and implementation of educational and wellness programming while maintaining data for program evaluation. Flexibility for occasional evenings, weekends, and travel between campuses is required. This position will be the primary therapist and care coordinator for students in all allied health programs and the nursing program and will work part of the required weekly hours in the Center for Academic Success in Health Care on main campus.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Carry a caseload of individual clients, providing mental health counseling and crisis intervention.
2.Develop and maintain treatment plans, assess progress, and ensure continuity of care for all clients.
3.Meet with students to evaluate situations, assess needs, and create action plans that integrate counseling and care coordination.
4.Document counseling sessions and care coordination outcomes in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
5.Develop and maintain a network of on-campus support, community-based agencies, programs, and workshops that support student success, including but not limited to: local/regional mental health and social services agencies, shelter and emergency housing, medical and insurance assistance, food pantries, and other social supports.
6.Assist in developing and implementing ongoing programming, workshops, groups, educational outreaches relating to emotional wellness and resource availability, and psychoeducation directed toward students and adult education services.
7.Participate in responding to immediate students' crisis by traveling to student crisis on campus, providing immediate assessment of crisis, and enacting crisis management protocols.
8.Assist with the Center for Student Wellness and Support to conduct assessment and prepare monthly/semester/annual reports on case management activities, including but not limited to trends, data analysis, and program evaluations.
9.Assist in consultation and training for faculty and staff, as needed, to increase awareness on how to manage a student in distress and other topics relating to mental health advocacy.
10.Identify and participate in on-going professional development, maintain compliance with licensure requirements, and complete any mandated trainings identified by the college.
11.Collect and maintain data related to the ICCB PATH Grant initiative including a student demographic database, support services utilization statistics, and completion statistics.

12.Assist in developing Memoranda of Understanding with off-campus agencies for mental health, medical, housing needs.
13.Perform related duties as assigned, in compliance with college policy and procedure.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1.Master's degree in social work or counseling.
2.Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Illinois.
3.Two (2) years of experience working with clients/students in conducting case management, individual counseling, and crisis intervention in a support team approach environment.
4.Knowledge of related sexual violence, domestic violence, mental health, and disability laws.
5.Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work as a part of a team.
6.Demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students, with a particular focus on addressing barriers faced by historically underserved and marginalized groups.
7.Demonstrated ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
8.Proficient in Word, Outlook and Excel with ability to learn specific software such as Maxient, Navigate, Titanium, and Ellucian Colleague.
9.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
10.Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1.Experience at the community college or university counseling center.
2.Experience working with more severe psychopathology.
3.Working knowledge of social service agencies and Medicaid eligibility and enrollment.
4.Experience in providing counseling/case management services via remote methods, such as video or phone.
5.Focus on being student-centered with a passion for student life and associated best practices in the context of higher education.
6.Maintains own professional liability/malpractice insurance.
7.English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
8.Demonstrated multicultural competence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

3.Ability to work weekend hours as needed.
