Assistant Professor of Practice in Operations Management Operations and Information Management Division

The Operations and Information Management Division at Babson College is seeking applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor of Practice in Operations Management starting in the 2025-26 academic year. Our expectation is to hire at the Assistant level, but individuals with exceptional experience could be considered at the Associate level. We seek intellectually curious colleagues who are aligned with our mission of educating responsible entrepreneurial leaders who create economic and social value everywhere, and we are focused on attracting exceptional talent to add to the academic experience on our campus.

We are looking for an experienced, engaged educator who embodies these qualifications:

  • Is experienced teaching Operations Management topics at the undergraduate and graduate level to an entrepreneurially focused, global, and multi-cultural student population
  • Is enthusiastic about teaching Babson's undergraduate Operations core courseTechnology Operations Management (TOM).This course is a broad survey of key topics in Operations Management.
  • Has a proven track record of teaching excellence in person and online using technology and innovative methods in course delivery, including proficiency in hybrid and online delivery modalities.
  • Works as a team player and is willing to collaborate with faculty within and across disciplines, both in integrated team teaching and in college service.
  • Is interested in developing a portfolio of practical and/or scholarly materials to contribute to broader practice and/or academic communities.
  • Is experienced with and committed to working in ways that will support and enhance the College's commitment to teaching in an aligned, engaged, and inclusive manner.
  • Has some industry / practical experience in the field of Operations Management (work, consultant, entrepreneur, or similar) that can inform teaching.

Applications with demonstrated commitment to teaching, education, and developing successful learning environments along with relevant practical experience will be given preference. This is not a remote position: it will require physical presence on the Babson campus. A graduate degree in Business or Operations Management is required.

About the Operations and Information Management Division (OIM)

The Operations and Information Management (OIM) Division at Babson College is a community of collaborative, supportive colleagues skilled at creative, experiential teaching methods. TheOIMdivision comprises: (1) Eleven (11) academic professors with Ph.D. degrees and consulting experience who are accomplished researchers and exceptional teachers. Of the 11, 5 specialize in Information Systems (including data management and analytics and digital transformation) and 6 specialize in Innovation and Operations Management. (2) Eight (8) professors of practice who have extensive industry connections (consulting and training) and, (3) nine (9) adjunct professors who are practitioners in their respective fields.
