Manager, Supplier Management: ESM Marketplace & Purchasing Operations

We are seeking a Manager, Supplier Management to lead our Marketplace and Purchasing Operational teams. As a Manager, Supplier Management, you will be responsible for leading two high performing teams of individuals. The Marketplace team develops the guided buying and punchout experiences through our Coupa platform. The Purchasing team facilitates the purchasing process and upholds our spend authorization standards across the enterprise. Overall, this leader is part of the operations team that ensures our third parties are efficiently and safely paid for the services they provide to the enterprise. This role requires sound judgment of intent, attention to detail, and accountability of risk.

You will work closely with teams and subject matter experts across Capital One's global footprint to create buying experiences that meet the needs of the business and ESM.

Key responsibilities include:

  • People Leadership - Oversees the growth and development of associates that include, empower, and inspire their teams to a healthy, high-performing Procure to Pay operations for Capital One.

  • Problem Solving & Strategy Advice: Provide problem-solving and innovative ideas to support internal customers. Identify value-generating opportunities (e.g. savings, efficiencies, or revenue growth).

  • Marketplace Management: Build, maintain and continue to elevate the associate catalog purchasing experience by understanding evolving business needs and partnering with Sourcing to create dynamic supplier product offerings.

  • Collaboration: Partner with internal risk groups to ensure third party relationships are compliant with all relevant policies and procedures.

  • Risk Management: Monitor and ensure successful delivery and pricing against third party contractual obligations. Partner with internal risk groups to ensure third party relationships are compliant with all relevant policies and procedures.

  • Subject Matter Expertise - A strong candidate for this role, will have an ability to deeply relate and understand the detailed purchasing needs and buying experiences of their customers in the LOBs, our Supply Chain Partners in the US and around the world, as well as Finance's many branches that oversee our accounting, payments, and taxes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in Relationship Management, Supplier Management, Project Management, Process Management, or a combination

  • At least 2 years of People Leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Procurement, Sourcing, Operations Management, Risk Management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Plano, TX: $132,800 - $151,600 for Manager, Supply Chain McLean, VA: $146,100 - $166,700 for Manager, Supply Chain Richmond, VA: $132,800 - $151,600 for Manager, Supply Chain

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
