Professional Affairs Royalties Contracts Manager

Life Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.

What will you be doing?

In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager of Professional Affairs Americas and collaborate with Medical Education, Marketing, Product Development, Finance, and Legal teams to oversee the selection, evaluation, and onboarding of healthcare consultants. You will manage Master Services Agreements for designated healthcare providers (HCPs) and handle all aspects of royalty and intellectual property (IP) contracts for both U.S. and select international consultants. Your responsibilities will include ensuring accurate contract creation, processing royalty payments, and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements while driving process efficiency and innovation.

Your primary duties will involve managing royalty agreements, resolving conflicts, overseeing the quarterly payment process, and ensuring accurate calculations and timely disbursements. You will also manage Royalty Contribution Certification (RCC) and Royalty Stock Keeping Unit (RSKU) processes within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. Additionally, you will support contract drafting and execution, onboarding and training HCP consultants, and maintaining documentation for due diligence checks and Fair Market Value Assessments.

To ensure compliance, you will stay up to date on federal regulations, industry codes, and company policies, ensuring alignment with legal and ethical standards. You will also participate in process improvement initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance contract and royalty management processes.

What will you need to be successful?

This position is based in the United States and requires a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Legal, Business, Healthcare Administration, or Data Analysis, with a master's degree preferred. Equivalent work experience may also be considered.

You will need to have 3-5 years of experience managing a portfolio of complex contracts, ideally with a focus on intellectual property, medical consulting, or the medical device industry. Experience in a customer-facing role within the healthcare sector is highly valued. A strong understanding of contract terms, conditions, and the medical device industry is essential. Additionally, you should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to navigate and collaborate within a matrix environment.

You. Unlimited.
