Columbia University in the City of New York: Columbia University Irving Medical Center: Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons: Psychiatry Location 02 Open Date Mar 14, 2025 Salary Range or Pay Grade $250,000 - $300,000 Description Full time position is available for a heart transplant psychiatrist as part of the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry division. The clinician will be primarily assigned to work in heart transplantation and work alongside transplant cardiologists, nurse practitioners and social workers in a liaison-role. The work will be split between inpatient and outpatient-based consultation and follow up.
The faculty member will be part of the clinical, research and educational mission of transplant psychiatry through the CL Psychiatry Division at Columbia. The applicant should have some experience with conducting diagnostic interviews and administering and reviewing scales. Applicants should have knowledge of both cognitive behavioral and motivational interviewing techniques. Applicants should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well across disciplines and function effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Our faculty serve as part of multi-disciplinary teams with ample opportunities to learn from and consult with colleagues. There are also professional development funds available to faculty to support licensure renewals, as well as obtaining additional training, conference attendance, professional organization membership, and potentially supervise/provide didactics to trainees. Faculty will have opportunities to attend case conferences, peer supervision, and Grand Rounds at CUIMC. This role includes opportunities for additional compensation aligned with the department's comprehensive compensation plan.
