Job Summary
Supervises construction & maintenance, meter reading and/or service work in a designated area to assure an efficient, economical and safe operation in adherence with company policies and governmental regulations while providing good customer service and public relations.
Essential Functions
- Plans, schedules, assigns, directs and supervises work related to the distribution of natural gas.
- Evaluates and monitors work methods, quality standards, productivity and work performance
- Orders, receives, verifies receipt of and maintains adequate materials and supplies.
- Prepares and participate in regulatory audits.
- Prepares reports (such as time reports, mileage, odorization, leakage survey) and assures the completeness and accuracy of reports.
- Meets with contractors to assure compliance with operating standards and resolve any questions or concerns.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Description
Requires a high school education or the equivalent knowledge of English, basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and calculation of fractions and/or percentages), grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Experience
- Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in one of the following: gas and/or electric operations, accounting, engineering or related field. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for up to four (4) years of experience.
- Requires a valid state issued driver's license and able to maintain a good driving record.
Working Conditions
- Able to work indoors in normal office environment and outdoors with occasional exposure to all weather and noise conditions during outdoor job site visits.
- Required to travel to other work locations, field offices, and job sites with some overnight travel.
- Able to work either alone and/or at locations other than normal work location.
- Able to be highly dependable and reliable, including punctual and regular attendance.
- Able to work in fast-paced environment with a high-volume workload and frequent, short deadlines that may require more than a 40-hour work week to meet established deadlines, including working nights and/or weekends as required.
- Able to support Emergency Operating Plan.
