Salesforce Technical Product Owner

Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Salesforce Technical Product Owner is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, and optimization of a company's Salesforce CRM system, ensuring its effective use across the organization by managing user access, training, data quality, reporting, and collaborating with various departments to leverage Salesforce data for strategic decision-making;they often lead a team of Salesforce administrators and developers to achieve business goals through the platform.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define business requirements, translate these into technical specifications and develop a strategic Salesforce roadmap to align organizational objectives.
  • Manage the implementation of new Salesforce features, customizations, and integrations, ensuring seamless adoption across the company.
  • Define and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure that solutions are technically feasible and meet quality standards and deliver high quality products.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all technical aspects of the Salesforce platform.
  • Provide guidance and support to the development team throughout the implementation process.
  • Conduct regular reviews and updates of the product backlog to ensure it remains relevant and up to date.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders and the development team to ensure a clear understanding of requirements and expectations.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of development activities, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may arise.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize Salesforce workflows and business processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Communicate changes to Salesforce effectively, managing user adoption and addressing concerns during implementation and updates.

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities and limitations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and project management skills. Demonstrates application of advanced knowledge of Project Management Institute-based project management methodology.
  • Proven change agent and mentor
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office products including MS Project, Visio, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required; ability to use other on-premise or cloud-based project management, reporting and dishoarding tools
  • Must be self-motivated, well organized and have strong innovation and facilitation skills.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

* BA/BS in Computer Science, Business or related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a Salesforce Product Owner or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities and limitations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools.
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified Administrator, Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder) are a plus.
