Clinic closes at 4:00pm Missouri Cancer Associates is a multi-specialty practice including medical oncology, hematology, radiation oncology and urology. We have 22 providers that service ten Missouri communities. Our main office is in Columbia. Through state-of-the-art medical technology, highly experienced physicians and nurse practitioners and quality patient care, Missouri Cancer Associates has become the premier Cancer Treatment Center in Mid-Missouri. This position is located at 1705 E Broadway, Columbia, MO! Missouri Cancer Associates is affiliated with Urology Associates of Central Missouri and the US Oncology Network! SCOPE: Under direct supervision of a pharmacist,performs the technical, nonjudgmental aspects of medication preparation, distribution, record keeping and inventory control. Tasks are subject to sequential or final verification by a registered pharmacist. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities
* Checks all orders for completeness of information. * Verifies patient information and proper physician authorization. * Under a professional's supervision, fills prescriptions as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner as per department guidelines, and preparing all drugs within OSHA guidelines and interoffice guidelines. * Checks drugs monthly for outdate and other quality assurance activities as assigned. * Maintains proper control documentation of medications, including lot numbers. * Complete inventory control of medications. Receives and shelves medications. * Assists lead admixture technician in ensuring that standard drug supplies are inadequate supply in all departments. * Prepares labels. *Files and prepares billing. *Performs efficient data entry into systems
