The Restaurant Business Development Director will develop new concept revenue streams and enhance margin contribution to the business. Develop strategic planning solutions that focus on key concepts for the McLane Foodservice (MFS) business model. Identify and build positive, strong relationships with key executives within corporate, franchise organizations, and purchasing co-ops in Quick Service (QSR), Fast Casual, Casual and Family Dining categories. Understand potential customer expectations and translate them into McLane supply chain solutions with a strategic and competitive advantage. Understand competitive positioning in the industry to develop appropriate service and price offerings.

  • Pay rate: $145,000 to $165,000 per year.
  • This role is also eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan with a target incentive of 20% of your base annual salary.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:



  • Network with executive level industry contacts to identify or create new or enhanced distribution opportunities and workstreams.
  • Align opportunities that fit the MFS business model and win contracts that provide profitable revenue streams.
  • Build/grow relationships with key decision makers in QSR sector.
  • Identify and capture business outside traditional QSR that fits the MFS business model.
  • Navigate the RFP process by leading teams to effectively create and present competitive bids.
  • Negotiate agreements for new business. Provide leadership with clarity and insight with questions regarding agreements.
  • Market MFS as the premier supply chain organization within the foodservice industry.
  • Work with operations and field leadership to present cost effective yet profitable supply chain solutions.
  • Align strategies with Vantix and Kinexo to assess additional business opportunities for new and existing customers.
  • Protect MFS business interests within existing customer base.
  • Represent MFS at key industry conventions, meetings, visits.
  • Interact with MFS Sr. management and various levels of management at McLane Company on a regular basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Have 7+ years broad base knowledge of distribution industry sales.
  • 5 or more years of managerial experience in progressively increasing sales roles.
  • Solid understanding of field operations.
  • Excellent financial acumen.
  • Experience resolving conflicts, suggesting alternative strategies, and reaching resolution with senior executives at franchisor or franchisees level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and finesse, with proven ability to negotiate and close deals.

  • Office environment
  • 50% or more travel is required.
