The Continuous Improvement Lead (DC Operations) will guide Continuous Improvement & Safety thinking throughout supply chain operations in AIT's various business units. This role involves both influencing OE analysts, DC Managers, and other key leaders, and individually leading and executing projects. Success in this position requires developing strong cross-functional relationships, identifying improvement opportunities using data, analysis, and observation, establishing lean principles in core operating processes, and empowering Applied associates through change management. Job Duties
- Key Metrics Alignment: Understand and communicate key metrics that create world-class results at AIT DCs. Influence DC leadership teams to align on these metrics and the necessary actions to achieve world-class performance.
- Project Management: Manage projects and analytical resources as assigned. Ensure resource alignment with project goals. Implement measurement systems to track progress on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
- Data Analysis: Analyze transactional data and business results to identify improvement opportunities. Use appropriate tools to drill down to root causes.
- Coaching: Act as a coach for OE Analysts on AIT DC teams, ensuring high engagement, guidance, and accountability. Focus analytical resources on outcome-producing projects.
- Leadership: Drive site and regional leaders to achieve optimum results and consistency across locations.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with senior management about project progress and results.
- Thought Leadership: Provide thought leadership on improvements to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost throughout related operations.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree: Required in a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years in continuous improvement, data analysis, and/or project management, with preference for experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or other OpEx platforms.
- Field Operations: Detailed experience in field operations at an industrial distribution business preferred.
