Job Summary

The I&C Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for basic operational knowledge of all plant systems and perform operation of the equipment within specification and environmental regulations.

The role is responsible for continuing to learn the proper function and oversee maintenance of equipment at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant. Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation.

The facility is a Boiling Water Reactor (BWR). This position will provide oversight of day to day maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection and repairs to the facility equipment.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee routine and emergency maintenance on the plant instrumentation, electrical and control system, including weekends, holidays and scheduled shift.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair plant electronic, pneumatic systems, analyzers, facility computers, process control equipment and instrumentation.
  • Participate in major maintenance projects, including equipment overhauls and removal and replacement of major units and parts. Inspects and monitors work of third-party contractors during major equipment repair or installation.
  • Supervise the maintenance and repair instrumentation and controls equipment, electrical monitoring equipment, various operating gauges, instruments, PLC's and alarms.
  • Must be able to frequently climb ladders; enter confined spaces; climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders and walkways at elevation.
  • Assisting/performing troubleshooting of plant equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure proper functioning, daily maintenance, construction, demolition, overhauls, repair /replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and structures.
  • Provides skills for maintaining equipment at the plant
  • Perform supervisory clearances duties in accordance with nuclear operating procedures.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of I&C related systems and controls.
  • Understands and follows current safety and environmental regulations necessary to conduct work
  • Ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Clearances (Lockout Tagout), Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE
  • Must provide positive influence on the maintenance, operations, and management team.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems in systems, read and interpret online diagrams, electrical protection scheme, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and vendor service manuals.

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements

  • 4-6 years of related I&C technician experience
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
  • Prior Senior Technician certification preferred
  • Demonstrate standard computer-based skills
  • Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills
  • If applicable, candidate must meet regulatory requirements
