Job Duties:
- Assist in representing creditors (unsecured or secured lenders) or debtors in formal bankruptcy proceedings and various informal corporate restructuring, including assisting in:
- Reviewing historical financial statements and other information to understand causes of the bankruptcy filing or financial difficulties
- Identifying the key financial indicators/measures related to an organization or industry
- Drafting reports and presentation materials to present financial information in a meaningful manner
- Preparing and/or reviewing cash flow projections (short and long-term)
- Reviewing actual weekly and monthly results compared with projections
- Preparing and/or reviewing a Business Plan for the restructuring of the Company
- Classifying claims and interests for a Reorganization Plan
- Preparing various spreadsheets summarizing and highlighting various agreements and court filings, including Debtor-in 'Possession financings, management compensation agreements, and liquidation analyses
- Preparing written proposal packages for new engagements, including analyzing industry, competitors, financial performance, and preparing computerized graphs and charts
- Creating a library of reference materials from recent cases worked to provide a centralized depository for sample schedules and reports generated in previous cases
- Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education:
- Bachelors degree in a Business (Accounting, Finance, Management, etc.) or Economics
Experience:
- Accounting based internship preferred
- Leadership experience preferred
License/Certifications:
- CPA preferred
- Actively pursing completion of CPA licensing required
Software:
- Familiarity with computers, including:
- conducting searches for information on companies via the Internet
- Excel (or similar spreadsheet software), including graphics for report preparation
- PowerPoint (for report preparation) and Word (or similar word processing software)
Language:
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand basic financial statements, with a good analytical thinking ability and strong writing report writing skills
Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. California Range: $55,000 - $100,000 NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $55,000 - $100,000 Washington Range: $55,000 - $100,000
