Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Solid Waste Advisory Intern position in our Kennesaw, GA or Bloomfield, NJ office. The position offers the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations in support of the Solid Waste Advisory Team for a variety of multidisciplinary projects. The position is full-time (40 hours/week) for approximately 10 to 14 weeks during the summer of 2025. Candidates are responsible for coordinating their own transportation to and from the office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Support the economic analysis process;
  • Support the financial modeling process;
  • Sourcing and critically evaluating data, providing insightful analysis and presentations;
  • Data input and analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; and
  • Following instructions and interacting with engineers, geologists, office administrative staff, CADD operators (draftsmen), contractors and construction personnel;
  • Development of research on markets, industries and companies;
  • Lifecycle project management including development of engagement proposals;
  • Report writing and presentation development;
  • Client and team interaction and briefings; and
  • Local travel or driving to project sites as needed.


Education and Licensure

  • Currently registered in a Bachelor's or Master's university degree program in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Degree focus areas in economics, geology, math, finance or engineering. (required)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Outstanding academic credentials and exceptional interpersonal, technical writing, oral and written communication, and problem-solving skills. (required)
  • Strong work ethic, ability to work independently and as part of a team. (required)
  • Position may also require health and safety training for working in the field as part of our corporate Health and Safety procedures.
  • Solid general technical/analytical capabilities, including the ability to learn new software quickly. (required)
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools and the ability to write complex formulas and visualize data effectively in MS Excel. (required)
  • Familiarity with environmental data and knowledge of basic statistics. (preferred)
