Staffmark is looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join a respected local housing authority team in Charleston, SC. If you're ready to apply your expertise in a dynamic, team-oriented environment, we want to hear from you!

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00/hr

Shift: Monday - Friday | 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Responsibilities:



  • Perform maintenance on buildings, facilities, and light equipment.
  • Handle repairs in plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical systems, and household appliances.
  • Ensure compliance with Uniform Physical Condition Standards (UCPS) for REAC inspections.
  • Manage service requests, maintenance reports, and interpret schematics, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Support Boiler and Domestic Water system checkups.



Requirements:



  • High school diploma or GED required; vocational certification is a plus.
  • At least 4 years of experience or training in building construction or mechanical repair.
  • HVAC Certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical systems, and appliance maintenance.
  • Familiarity with state and local building codes, HUD standards, and REAC inspections.
  • High proficiency in one trade with general knowledge of others.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
