The Business Development Senior Landman will be a part of Diamondback Energy's Business Development team and responsible for supporting and facilitating acquisitions, divestitures and trades. The candidate will coordinate with asset teams and/or technical professionals to ensure the company objectives and goals are met. This position will report to the Business Development Land Manager in Diamondback's Midland, TX office.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to:
- Support complex Land Business Development assignments with minimal supervision
- Make recommendations regarding A&D transactions
- Provide technical and strategic advice on complex Land negotiations
- Perform due diligence tasks in A&D transactions
- Prepare and distribute reports based on company's acquisitions, divestitures, trades, and acreage positions
- Review relevant legal and financial obligations
- Partner with brokers and attorneys in A&D matters as appropriate
- Provide guidance to Land support staff
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Energy Management, Petroleum Land Management, Business Administration, or related field
- At least five (5+) years of progressive Land experience with at least three (3+) of those being in-house
- At least four (4+) years of demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
- High-level understanding of Land, Exploration, and A&D activity
- Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Permian Basin landman experience
- Member of AAPL
- Aptitude to apply strategic thinking skills to identify and evaluate logically and creatively various factors that can have a current and future business impact
- Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills
- Strong attention to detail and flexibility regarding workload and priorities, while also maintaining commercial awareness and a broader view of business development situations
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a proven track record of being able to problem solve and think creatively
