About the Role:
You have always loved it, now be part of it! Ferrero's Augusta, Georgia Plant, where we proudly manufacture Famous Amos and Keebler cookies is looking for an Industrial Sustainability, Environmental and Energy (ISEE) Manager. You'll be joining the Ferrero Augusta GA team as a part of plant leadership, driving for results towards our ambitious global targets for industrial sustainability and environmental initiatives.
As the ISEE Manager, you will be working with stakeholders across the Plant at all levels, providing guidance and support to the plant functions on energy saving topics (e.g. effective energy system design, efficiencies generation). In addition to your local collaborations, you will liaise with Ferrero Group, balancing Ferrero's Corporate Social Responsibility commitmentswith your local responsibilities for guaranteeing compliance with city, state and country regulations.
This position reports to the Plant Director.
Main Responsibilities:
ENVIRONMENT & ENERGY GOVERNANCE
- Promote all necessary collaborations in the Plant to guarantee the achievement of energy efficiency goals; ensuring the overall environmental compliance
- Responsible for internal and external communication with relevant authorities regarding environmental issues with the Plant Manager
- Responsible for the Environmental Management System
- Ensure the proper Ammonia Risk Management Programs (RMP) and Process Safety Management (PSM) are in place
BUDGET & PLANNING
- Analyze and critically support, together with related experts, energy supply needs and usage within the manufacturing cycle
- Define the budget proposal within Environmental & Energy topics (i.e. energy needs, investments, compliance, etc.)
- Support in developing the mid-long term plan for Energy Plant structure
- Ensure strategic programs from headquarters are implemented in the Factory master plan
INVESTMENTS
- Working with the technical team identify the resources affecting energy and environmental and ensuring that specific investments meet corporate and local compliance
- Promote the assessment of the energy and environmental impacts of new machines and equipment
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROJECTS
- Proactively promote and participate in activities such as increasing energy saving culture at all levels, including technical support and training to users
- Collaborate with relevant Functions for investigating and monitoring new norms and internal regulation compliance, as well as looking for research and development of new technologies and new non-polluting power sources
LEGAL FULFILLMENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES
- Analyze and monitor the legislative evolution and national regulation, managing institutional relations and protecting corporate interests and reputation at the regional, national, and community level
- Identify the activities in the Plant that could take advantage of public incentives.
- Responsible for guaranteeing the legal compliance of all state and federal regulations that affects and/or involves the plant operations.
DOCUMENTATION
- Collaborate with Plant entities to draft and update the instructions/procedures regarding energy and environment.
- Oversee environment related procedures / norms and apply certified environment managing systems, foster the adopt of the best available techniques.
- Responsible for reporting to the State and to the Federal Government environmental impact according to local regulation.
- Responsible for maintaining documentation that supports compliance.
MONITORING, KPI'S AND REPORTING
- Carry out the monitoring and consolidation of the primary energy sources (i.e. electric energy in high or medium voltage and natural gas at the entrance of the Plant) and secondary ones (i.e. electric energy in medium and low voltage, compressed air, gas) involving final users.
- Ensure monitoring of energy consumptions, both externally supplied and internally measured.
- Guarantee the periodic update of the energy audit, including the hydric balance.
CERTIFICATIONS
- Responsible for all activities aimed at achieving and maintaining certification at least of ISO 50001 & 14001, and any other local certifications
- Perform energy audits within the Plant and guarantee the presence of needed processes
- Manage ISO 14001 & 50001, and other relevant certifications/standards
Who we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, Environmental Studies or related field
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification a plus
- A minimum of 4 years in Industrial Sustainability management, environmental planning and/or related fields.
- Thorough knowledge of ISO 14001 & 50001, and other local, state and federal regulations, certifications and standards
- Experience with Ammonia Risk Management Programs (RMP) and Process Safety Management (PSM)
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross functional teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to create strong partnerships internally and externally
- Strong computer proficiency using MS Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc)
- Drive for results, strong initiative and the ability to identify opportunities for improvement
