Job Summary Provides business and technical expertise to support the development and administration of damage prevention and incident investigation and reporting activities, and payment of fines/penalties in compliance with the Federal and State Regulatory Requirements and Company Policies & Procedures. Develops, implements, and monitors standardized processes and key regulatory control mechanisms to ensure consistent and uniform regional compliance. Develops, implements, and monitors key operational utilization reports and coordination of internal and regulatory audits. Establishes an environment where compliance is proactive, and the division is fully prepared to meet all regulatory standards.
**This position will report to our office in New Braunfels, TX. Essential Functions
- Coordinates responses to regulatory citations and audits, works closely with CenterPoint Energy Compliance and Gas Operations to research background information from third party damages
- Interpret federal and state regulations, agreements, policies, and procedures and provide solutions for company compliance.
- Communicates to company personnel at all levels, including developing presentations, conducting meetings, and developing reports to aid operational compliance.
- Supports federal and state D.O.T. inspections, division's pre-audits, reporting, and post-audit follow-up.
- Creates and maintains open dialogues with departments, requests information and responds by providing suggestions, alternatives, and assistance.
- Leverages relationships to identify opportunities for improvement and develops solutions to operational issues.
- Interfaces with management to identify best practices and ensure consistent operational procedures throughout the organization.
- Assists with investigation coordination and root cause analysis, determinations, and recommendations. Provides regulatory and litigation support for legal and other proceedings.
- Supports data and information collection for annual D.O.T. reports and incident reports, incident investigations and safety related condition analyses and reporting.
- Develops key operational utilization reports and makes operations improvement recommendations to division management.
- Leads development of new policies, procedures, and guidelines for operations.
- Serves on various teams providing division level perspective to process improvement and issue resolution.
- Maintains databases required associated with division operations.
- Must demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, the Company's Ethics and Compliance Code, and other Company policies and procedures, and take all required training courses.
- Must demonstrate respect for all individuals and adhere to the Company's values and business practices.
- Coordinates with customer service and support operations to optimize division operations resources.
- Participates in the evaluation and implementation of new products and procedures.
- Serves as a subject matter expert to research and develop responses for technical questions from division operations employees.
Education Description Requires a high school diploma or the equivalent knowledge of English, mathematics and grammar. A bachelor's degree is preferred. Experience
- Requires at least seven (7) years of experience in compliance, operations, safety, business, and/or engineering with subject matter expertise in at least one area of regulatory, gas operations, procedure writing, or process improvement
- Must have a valid driver's license and able to maintain a good driving record.
- Relationship Building and ability to support a team environment.
- CNP Policies and Procedures as applicable to the Texas Administrative Codes preferred.
- SAP Reporting, including SAP WO Reviews for data accuracy preferred.
- Operations experience in service, construction, and/or Technical Field Operations preferred.
- Project Management preferred.
- Technical Training preferred.
- Risk Mitigation preferred.
- Proficient in Excel reporting, including generating Ad-hoc Reports, PivotTables, etc. preferred.
