Overview

Summary:

Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements software that runs computers and technologies like smart devices, networking equipment, or machinery. Determines systems software design requirements. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. Generates systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures | May participate in all aspects of software development, from detailed programming to high-level system design.



Major Position Responsibilities

    Responsible for the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support
  • Designs, implements, installs, maintains, and administers infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations
  • Monitors overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune appropriately
  • Performs root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures
  • Works with others to establish and improve processes and procedures
  • May have sole responsibility for projects and participate in disaster recovery exercises


Basic Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Associate's Degree and 2-4 years experience in a relevant function

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering or other Engineering degree required

  • Problem-Solving Skills

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Travel Requirements:

  • Less than 25% travel likely

Pay Range (USD)

$70,840.00 - $131,560.00

The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training.
