Overview

Deutsche Bank Private Credit & Infrastructure (PCI) is Deutsche Bank's US-based balance sheet lending platform. Within Deutsche Bank PCI, the Corporate Direct Lending team has a wide mandate to underwrite and structure facilities including bridge, term and asset-backed loans, with a focus on middle market direct lending and venture/growth debt. As an Associate/Vice President on the Corporate Direct lending team, you will play a critical role on the deal team both structuring and negotiating new direct lending transactions, as well as navigating restructurings and workouts of portfolio credits. In the last 9 years, Deutsche Bank PCI has underwritten transactions in excess of $40bn and currently maintains over $20bn in balances outstanding.

What You'll Do

  • Lead or serve as a key deal team member on new direct lending transactions

  • Negotiate and structure new transaction credit documentation

  • Lead or serve as a key person during the workout or restructuring or portfolio credits

  • Manage the approval process for new transactions and other events over the life of the transaction

  • Manage external legal counsel

  • Mentor junior members of the team

How You'll Lead

  • Work with senior members of the deal team on structures for new loans to best protect the Bank on a risk-adjusted basis

  • Negotiate with counterparties at sponsors and companies on transactions documentation and structure

Skills You'll Need

  • J.D. from a top-tier law school

  • Extensive experience working at a top law firm, focusing on private credit and/or restructuring

  • Understanding of credit documentation and restructuring considerations for private credit loans

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken

  • Self-motivated

  • Self-starter

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $135K to $317K. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
