Coke Florida is looking for a Data Engineer to work out of our Tampa HQ area office. What You Will Do: The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing data products in cloud platforms, with a heavy focus on Databricks and Snowflake. The successful candidate will work closely with data scientists, analysts, software developers and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality, efficient, and scalable data solutions to support analysis, reporting, application development and data science modeling. The Data Engineer is responsible for building, managing and operationalizing data pipelines to support production-level deployments. The Data Engineer must have expertise in various data consumption archetypes to ensure data product design is optimized to support the primary data consumer. Additionally, they are responsible for curating data sets and data pipelines created by both technical and nontechnical users (e.g., through self-service data preparation tools). Finally, they support the key task of deploying analytics and data science outputs into existing business processes and applications. Data engineers also guarantee compliance with data governance and data security requirements. Data engineers are mission-critical, as they know where to start with the data and which pipelines are business-centric. As such, they need to collaborate with the business and educate the organization on data engineering practices, ensuring that users can do some data engineering on their own. Data engineering is the discipline of translating data into usable forms in a timely manner that meets consumer demands. At the same time, it involves managing data debt early in the process by considering cataloging, reusability, governance, compliance and operations readiness of all data artifacts. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support ETL processes.
- Collaborate with both technical and non-technical cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement efficient data solutions.
- Design and implement a data architecture that supports AI, Generative AI, Large Language Models and Machine Learning technologies. The data architecture must be able to support both structured and unstructured data.
- Design and implement an API structure that enables easy access to the highly curated data supporting multiple data consumption archetypes.
- Parsing and understanding data across a large number of diverse datasets
- Working with domain experts, data scientists and analysts to ensure data products meet the needs of the business
- Provisioning integrated data quickly across multiple environments
- Optimize and troubleshoot data pipelines for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Ensure data security, governance, and compliance with company and industry standards
- Monitor and manage ETL processes to ensure seamless data delivery.
- Prepare technical documentation and maintain best practices.
For this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, or in a similar role
- 3-5 years of experience using SQL, R, Python, Spark SQL and/or PySpark on a daily basis
- 3-5 years of experience with cloud data platforms. Preferably Databricks and Snowflake
- 3-5 years of experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) utilizing an agile methodology
- 3-5 years of experience using SDLC project management tools, such as Azure DevOps
- 3-5 years of experience using version control tools, such as Git
- 3-5 years of experience using integrated development environments (IDE) or a code editor, such as Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, PyCharm, or R Studio, and ability to configure the environment appropriately to the requirements of various projects
- 3-5 years of experience using business intelligence tools like Tableau, Power BI, Sigma Computing, ThoughtSpot, etc.
- Experience with ETL tools and processes
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Proficiency with data modeling, data warehousing, and data lake concepts
- Demonstrated ability to work with large, complex data sets and curate/harmonize data to support detailed analysis, dashboards and reporting
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to liaise with both technical and non-technical business partners to collaborate, gather requirements, and deliver effective results
Additional qualifications that will make you successful in this role:
- Experience using JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) and Scala
- Experience and familiarity with Data Lakehouse
- Experience creating UML diagrams and/or project workflows using tools such as draw.io, Promapp, or Visio
- Experience with machine learning models
- Certification in Databricks or Snowflake
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
