The Parent & Family Engagement Coordinator plays a critical role in strengthening engagement with FGCU families by developing and executing strategic communication plans and serving as a primary point of contact for parents and families. This includes managing newsletters, social media, and publications to keep current families informed and engaged. The Parent & Family Engagement Coordinator establishes systems for handling parent concerns and works to enhance the overall family engagement experience at FGCU. Working closely with the Director, the Coordinator also supports all Retention & Graduation Services programs, ensuring effective delivery and outcomes. This role is responsible for managing a variety of family-focused programs and overseeing the coordination of logistics, marketing, volunteer management, and outcome assessment.
Job Description Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
- Participates in the development of new initiatives to enhance parent and family engagement, leading projects that focus on continuous program improvements and the betterment of the family experience at FGCU.
- Establishes and manages a centralized system for submitting, tracking, and addressing parent and family concerns. Ensures that inquiries and concerns are routed to the appropriate responders in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborates with the Director in the design, development, oversight, implementation, documentation, and assessment of all Parent and Family Programs. Ensures that initiatives align with the university's goals for student success, retention, and family involvement.
- Develops and manages comprehensive communication strategies for engaging current families. This includes creating monthly newsletters, utilizing university-sponsored social media channels, and publishing informational materials for new student families.
- Oversees and manages orientation programs for parents and families of new and transfer students. Handles all aspects of program planning, logistics, and assess outcomes to ensure successful integration into the FGCU community.
- Trains, supervises, and evaluates a team of orientation student leaders who assist in the parent and family orientation program, ensuring they are well-prepared to provide support and accurate information to families.
- Represents Retention & Graduation Services at recruitment events and admitted student orientations, providing information about the university's commitment to family involvement and student success.
- Coordinates and manages all aspects of family engagement initiatives, including collaborative planning with campus and community partners. Oversees program development, logistics, volunteer coordination, marketing, website maintenance, and assessment of program outcomes.
- Regularly assesses and evaluates the effectiveness of parent and family engagement programs. Use data and feedback to inform programming and report outcomes to the Director and other stakeholders.

Additional Job Description Required Qualifications:
- This position requires either eight years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate are of specialization.
