Assistant Department Manager - Design Technology - MEPS

Dewberry's Raleigh, NC office is seeking an Assistant Department Manager - Design Technology - MEPS. Assist in Managing Design Technology Department staff.
• • Develop and train staff in Design Technology skills.
  • Schedule staff assignments.
  • Perform staff performance reviews.
• Assist in developing and managing new design technology and associated data visualization to better achieve business goals and objectives for the MEPS Service Line.
• Assist in helping define and coordinate the software and the supporting hardware needs as they pertain to design technology.
• Guiding contract language by participating in Go/No Go process on pursuit/fee proposals.
• Assist in the development and overseeing of reality capture technology within the scope of MEPS to create highly accurate digital models.
• Pursuit of registrations, accreditations, and continuing education related to Dewberry areas of practice and candidates' level of expertise will be encouraged, including continuing education and industry conferences. Educational and exam costs will be reimbursed in accordance with Dewberry Employee Handbook and Company Policies.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

• Work is assigned and overseen by MEPS Design Center/Business Unit Manager/Service Line Leader

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

• Supervision of small to medium teams.
• Supervision of project metrics.

• Minimum 8 years directly applicable experience required.
• Must have the ability to generate big-picture ideas and solutions at the beginning stage of projects.
• Must have the ability to manage Design Technology and BIM elements of projects from beginning to end.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit & Autocad Required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including experience in dealing with contractors and clients.
• Strong people skills.
• Confident, proactive character, able to take the lead in challenging situations.
• Providing technical leadership to teams of professional and non-professional staff.
• Coordinating work schedules and preparing progress reports.
• Recommending changes in cost estimates and scopes of work when necessary.
• Working under your direction and interfacing directly with the client.
• Preference is for an individual who is fully conversant with the working practices employed by consulting engineers.
