We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC, Huntsville, AL and Burlington, MA with an additional 36 locations across the U.S. Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Systems Administrator for the Cyber TMAS 2 contract, supporting the 46 TS / TGBB at Eglin AFB. FL. JOB DETAILS LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL JOB STATUS: Full-Time TRAVEL: < 10% CONUS / OCONUS REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and a minimum of 1-3years of relevant technical experience is required. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Perform IT customer support (helpdesk) functions including troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and customer interface skills. Self-starter, able to multi-task and perform effectively in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and Visio).
- Interpersonal skills (written and verbal) necessary to deal courteously and effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
- Perform IT customer support functions including troubleshooting.
- Assist in configuring computers, installing software, creating, and maintaining file sharing capability and diagnosing hardware and software operational issues to include troubleshooting network problems and implementing patches and fixes to solve network issues.
- Proficient in hands-on administration of Microsoft Windows-based systems (e.g. group policy, security settings, registry settings, etc.)
- Demonstrated proficiency in problem-solving and adept at quickly identifying and resolving technical issues.
- Ability to install, configure, and maintain operating systems.
- Proficient in hands-on administration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
- Proficiency in the use and integration of Microsoft Office applications.
- Actively maintains hardware and software license databases and inventories.
- Performs other related functions as required to advise and assist the customer in the successful accomplishment of test support and execution of the mission.
- Experience managing security measures, including implementing and maintaining security policies, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Experience maintaining up-to-date documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Ability to work as a part of a cross-functional team to support development, testing, and deployment processes.
- Ability to assist with the hardening of systems to conform with all applicable regulations from DoD and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). This includes but is not limited to Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and Security Requirements Guides (SRG).
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Experience with DoD Cybersecurity terminology, DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), NISP Special Publication 800-53, and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Experience in Python programming language.
- Experience with database management (SQL/POSTGRES/NOSQL)
Experience with Special Access Programs - Experience configuring virtual machines using VMWare or other hypervisor-based systems
- Experience creating bootable hard drive images
- Experience with DISA Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) to include scanning systems for vulnerabilities and mitigating found vulnerabilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Test, troubleshoot and apply corrections to information systems; and apply patches and software upgrades.
- Assist with the implementation and enforcement of all Air Force cybersecurity policies and procedures using Air Force guidance.
- Accomplish cybersecurity incident monitoring and response.
- Perform hardware and software configuration management (including set up and maintain Antivirus, Complete vulnerability scans, and complete Nessus scans).
