Pharmacy Technician Training Program

The University Hospitals Pharmacy Technician Training Program is now open for applications!!

Our accelerated training program will provide you with all of the classroom and hands-on skill building required to become a state registered and nationally certified Pharmacy Technician here at University in as little as 16 weeks. This program begins in June, 2025.

Pharmacy Technician Trainees are:

Responsible for logistically organizing, collaborating and /or delivering required discharge medications to patients and/or families or caregivers. The Trainee will ensure the successful hand off to the appropriate medications to enable the improvement of the patient's health management & experience. The Trainee will interact primarily with pharmacists, patients, other members of the patient care team & representatives of outside organizations (pharmacies, long term care facilities, etc.).

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
• Strong aptitude in Math
• Prior customer service experience preferred
• Must be able to obtain a Trainee License from the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (BCI and FBI fingerprinting will be conducted)
• Must be able to successfully pass employer-driven curriculum and national certification within 180 days of hire
• Must have reliable transportation to complete clinical rotations at various UH facilities in North East Ohio. Rotations will be grouped within our Central, Western and Eastern markets.
