Job Description

The Director of US IT Risk Management, Advisory & Monitoring leads IT risk management efforts within the US technology division. This role drives identification, risk assessment and monitoring of IT related risks to infrastructure, systems, applications, platforms and operations. Collaborate with first-line defense teams to maintain an effective control environment, address emerging threats and ensure risk management strategies align with the US Risk Management framework and regulatory expectations.

What will you do?

  • Develop and oversee the US IT risk management strategy, ensuring alignment with the Enterprise Risk Management framework
  • Design, develop and oversees Key Risk Indicators to identify and manage US technology risk exposure and adjust as required based on emerging risks or changes in the IT environment
  • Partners closely with RBC US Technology business partners to assess first-line-of-defense controls and provide guidance on effective risk management strategies
  • Assess high-risk technology initiatives to ensure effective risk management strategies are in place and provide oversight on third-party supplier relationships
  • Develop methodologies and frameworks to assess risk within the US Technology division and design risk management strategies to mitigate or remove risk for the organization
  • Drive continuous improvement of IT risk management processes and methodologies
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of IT risk management controls and provide regular updates to senior leadership teams
  • Conduct post-incident risk assessments to determine root cause, impact, and remediation actions to evaluate risk response strategies and effectiveness

What do you need to succeed?

  • Minimum of 10 years in risk management with a strong focus on advising and monitoring IT risks across financial services organizations
  • Strong understanding of US Regulatory environment including reporting requirements. Prior or current financial services experience required
  • Strong understanding of technology infrastructure, cyber security, service delivery and risk and change management processes
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to IT risk management including FFIEC, NIST,GDPR...and vendor risk management guidelines
  • Strong knowledge of IT Risk management frameworks and methodologies as well as tools and techniques for monitoring and reporting on IT risks.
  • Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders and demonstrate strong collaboration skills across the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset
  • Bachelor's degree in CompSci, Finance or related degree. Master's degree preferred

Nice-to-have

  • Certifications are a plus (e.g., CRISC, CISA, CISM,CAMS CISSP

The expected salary range for this particular position is $175K - $240K + discretionary bonus, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
