Under limited supervision, ensure the proper distribution of revenue obtained from the production of minerals as well as the continued maintenance and accuracy of the mineral ownership in company wells.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze leases, contracts, title opinions, operating agreements and legal documents to calculate a royalty owner's division of interest for purposes of payment of proceeds and a working interest owner's billable share of the burdens
  • Analyze title documentation and update/transfer record title ownership internally
  • Analyze and process documentation prompting a change in an owner's payment or billing status
  • Analyze requests and documentation received to modify ownership interests in joint interest billing, revenue and land decks
  • Analyze and process accounting directives
  • Research new owner setup information
  • Analyze and resolve quality control reports
  • Research and resolve discrepancies related division orders received for internal company owners against system and prepare for signature by management or escalate for review by others
  • Cure title defects as required
  • Research and resolve complex quality control reports, decimal discrepancies and title issues
  • Analyze acquisitions and divestitures and perform all necessary division order analyst work
  • Research and assist outside departments with interpretation of division order data
  • Manage and complete data integrity projects
  • Resolve highly complex quality control reports, decimal discrepancies and title issues
  • Mentor departmental peers as needed by guiding through a process
  • Review and approve work completed by others per SOX compliance standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum eight (8) years land industry experience, with at least five (5) being in Division Orders
  • At least four (4) years of demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Advanced knowledge of Division Order practices and policies and can apply that knowledge directly to your responsibilities
  • Proven examples of identifying solutions to division order related issues and suggesting process improvements to increase effectiveness
  • Proven analytical skills in reviewing documents to summarize information
  • Proven research skills with regard to reviewing multiple data sources to find specific information
  • Experience providing guidance and mentoring others

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within Land systems and applications such as: SAP, Quorum, P2 Excalibur, P2 Merrick, P2 AFE, Drilling Info and Accurint
  • Understanding of the role of Division Orders within the Land Department and possess the ability to communicate that role to other departments
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to effectively communicate information to and work with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated integrity in work product and in dealing with coworkers
  • Strong attention to detail and flexible regarding workload and priorities
