POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

The Janitor will work under the direction of the assigned Project Manager and provide custodial services as directed. There is a full range of custodial duties related to the care, maintenance and cleaning of all assigned buildings located at the Casper Field Office, 5600 W. Poison Spider Road, Casper, Wyoming, 82604 three (3) times a week.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Trash Disposal:



  • Collect trash from all designated areas. Place trash in plastic bags and remove it to the Government-furnished container. Ensure all trash cans have liners.
  • Unplug paper shredder and remove/dispose shredded paper.


Floors:



  • Non-carpeted floors and concrete (if any) shall be cleaned, including exposed floor areas under furniture and equipment. Caution shall be taken to avoid damage to furniture and equipment. Carpeted floors and mats shall be vacuumed, including exposed areas under furniture and equipment. Caution shall be taken to avoid damage to furniture and equipment.
  • Clean floor in designated area between three doors in the main building garage
  • Clean and sanitize all restrooms


Dispensers:



  • Fill dispensers, including soap, towels, toilet tissue, and seat covers, check to ensure they are operational and clean.
  • Drinking Fountains, Kitchens and Employee Lounges shall be clean and sanitized.
  • Dusting, Shall be accomplished on all horizontal and vertical services, ledges and operational equipment. This shall include the receiving table and metal cabinets in garage
  • Conference rooms, Conference rooms are to be cleaned, dusted, and vacuumed. Tabletops are to be free of fingerprints and smudges.
  • Surface Cleaning, Clean areas of woodwork, walls, baseboards, trim, doors, partitions, internal building windows, and handrails.


The following services shall be performed once per week:



  • Clean and sanitize all door handles in main building, breezeway and communications shop.
  • Clean all door windows and accessible windows (all but outside of second floor windows) including breezeway.
  • Shall empty and recycle aluminum can bins (one upstairs and one downstairs and dispose in the designated recycling dumpster.
  • Shall remove paper designated for recycling in copy room (one for magazines and one for office paper) and dispose in the designated recycling dumpster.


Air Vents:



  • Dusted and cleaned.


Services to be provided twice per year:



  • Stripping, Remove all old finish or wax from floors.
  • Polishing, Floors shall be polished and sealed
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
  • Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and hazardous components.
  • Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
  • Very good physical condition and strength.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • High school diploma is preferred but not required.
  • Pursuant to Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen.
