Responsibilities

Peraton requires an Asset Manager - Software to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3. This position is located at MacDill, AFB in Tampa Florida.

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

SOFTWARE LICENSE MANAGER

Software License Managers require extensive experience of gathering detailed hardware and software inventory information to develop and maintain an effective asset management program. This position supports activities including documenting and tracking contracts for software and application services and products across the enterprise. The Software Manager is also responsible for ensuring that all required IT assets have valid licenses to perform their jobs, as well as handling any other related tasks such as auditing current license holders or investigating potential violations of government policy.

Typical duties include:

    Maintaining the accuracy of Configuration Items (CIs) in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
  • Planning for the population of the asset database
  • Managing the asset database
  • Ensuring regular housekeeping of the asset database
  • Ensuring that the CMDB and asset database are highly accurate
  • Providing subject matter expertise for personal computer (PC), network, and server licensing
  • Joining contractual, and inventory functions in support of new license purchases, support and maintenance renewals.
  • Working directly with the Government to maintain a seamless transition from the creation of purchase orders to the delivery of entitlements through their period of performance.
  • Developing and maintaining processes for managing and tracking the license and maintenance life cycle, from procurement to retirement
  • Defining, maintaining, and updating policies and procedures for effective management of the IT asset life cycle (e.g., acquisition, deployment, utilization, de-installation, reallocation, and disposal)
  • Tracking and maintaining an accurate inventory of assets throughout their life cycle
  • Auditing, validating, and reconciling software licenses against the installed asset base
  • Working closely with the Government to ensure policy compliance and asset maintenance
  • Identifying opportunities to fully utilize unused or partially used IT hardware and software assets
  • Defining metrics, collecting data, and reporting on the effectiveness of IT asset management processes
  • Researching licensing models, product use rights, as well as licensing metrics and entitlements for vendor-published desktop software assets


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Min 6 years with HS degree, 4 years with AS/AA degree, 2 years with BS/BA
  • A DoD TS/SCI clearance is required
  • DoD 8570.01M IAT-II AND
  • ITIL Foundations OR
  • CSAM - IAITAM (Software Asset Management Specialist Cert)

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Enterprise Software Licensing
  • Experience with software licensing models for Enterprise type software (Microsoft, Adobe etc.)
  • Experience analyzing contracts for IT equipment, support maintenance and licensing
  • Experience working with a Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
  • Experience tracking IT assets through their lifecycle
  • Experience working with an ITSM tool such as BMC Remedy/Helix, ServiceNow, Jira, etc.
  • Experience developing governance, policies, and processes

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
