Responsibilities
The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for the operations of Pharmacy Services, including strategic planning, day to day operations, pharmaceutical care, clinical and distributive services, financial management and personnel management. The Director of Pharmacy is also responsible for overseeing the preparation in the organization that the pharmacy provides optimal services; meets all legal, accreditation, and certification requirements and complies with all applicable procedures, codes and standards or the organization. Qualifications Experience: 8-10 years hospital experience preferred, with 3-5 years in a management position required, and Minimum of 5-8 years of related experience. Licensure, Certification, Registration, etc.: Currently licensed to practice in the state of Texas. Special Skills, Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of pharmacy operations is a must. Prior experience as an assistant director of pharmacy or clinical manager. Ability to work independently and handle stress appropriately. Ability to work cooperatively with hospital and pharmacy staff. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions and respond quickly to emergency requests. Foster a team environment by providing orientation and training to new team members. Ability to manage a diverse workforce. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Software skills using MS office, proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel, some knowledge of MS Access. Pyxis experience with knowledge of Pyxis Reports (i.e., optimization, load/unload, nursing narcotic access, etc.) Financial Tracking experience. Education: Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (B.S. Pharm.), Preferred: Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.), Master's in Business Degree (M.B.A.), Master's Degree (M.S.), Doctorate (Ph.D.,Specify Area of Study): |
