Current Need

This position will strategically manage a portion of the Practice Management accounting functions for a number of Network practices. The primary focus of this role is working with the Director, Accounting Managers, Senior Accountants, and Controllers to provide operational excellence, efficiency, and first-class customer service while managing month end close and controls-related activities. To be successful the candidate needs to be able to influence and persuade stakeholders throughout the organization and must both embrace and expect excellence with an enterprise-first mindset.

Another main aspect of the role is to focus on team management and talent development to build strong bench strength for future McKesson leaders. The candidate must be a talent champion, true believer in team development and empowerment, and be able to create a team atmosphere of continuous improvement to exceed the expected results.

The essential skill requirements of this role are empowering the team, facilitating an environment encouraging change through processes and finance transformation to redefine and raise the level of excellence across the enterprise. Driving value and ensuring accuracy over precision in all areas is key with this people leader and high-profile role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads a functional department, interacts with leaders across the organization, providing cross-departmental operational excellence
  • Manages departmental processes, providing efficiencies and ensuring solution implementation across the enterprise
  • Analyzes complex to highly complex issues and facilitates completion of organizational objectives through communication and coordination with other departments
  • Sets direction of team and supports overall vision of upper management, ensuring vertical two-way alignment
  • Segment financial reporting
  • Responsible for timely production of financial statements
  • Overall management of control environment, including:
    • Coordinate development of and/or maintain SOX control narratives
    • Internal and External Audit coordination
    • Risk Controls Group (RCG) process development
  • Key contact for business leaders and customers
  • Customer relationship Management
  • Lead team through monthly close, analytics, and control activities
  • Timely ad hoc analysis to multiple stakeholders, including upper management
  • Facilitation of timely and accurate communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities for McKesson best practices and manage implementations ofsolutions for process improvements
  • Communicates organizational and functional strategy and translates it into team goals.

Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 9+ years of professional experience and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience.

Education
4-year degree in accounting

Critical Skills

  • 9+ years accounting experience, including 1+ years managerial experience
  • Can demonstrate mastery knowledge level of full cycle accounting
  • Expert-level excel experience
  • Experience reaching desired audience, able to train/coach others and provide C-level reporting
  • Effective oral and written communication, including presentation delivery to leaders
  • Project/Process Management - Must have a demonstrated ability to lead projects or handle large, complex processes. Also, must have a mindset that is oriented to constantly drive process improvement with an enterprise-first mindset
  • Building & Managing Organizational Talent - Attract, select and develop the highest caliber of talent available. Consistently places the right people in the right positions and assures they are successful in their roles
  • Proven ability to multi-task while meeting various deadlines

Additional Skills

  • CPA preferred
  • PeopleSoft and SAP experience extremely helpful
  • Essbase and HFM experience beneficial
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills to effectively interact with various audiences

Certifications/Licensure
CPA preferred

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$98,900 - $164,900
