POSITION SUMMARY:



  • The Logistics Coordinator reports to the Transportation Manager
  • Located in Lewisville, TX
  • Full-Time
  • Hybrid



The Logistics Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing and facilitating Dedicated Truck scheduling and communication. This position is responsible for managing truck loading schedules, coordinating logistical support between sales and operations, and assisting with various aspects of freight management, including damage claims and vendor negotiations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily Management of Truck Loading Schedule:



  • Manage the daily truck loading schedule for major DC locations, including obtaining quotes and ensuring appropriate equipment allocation for each load.


Communication Facilitation:



  • Facilitate communication between sales and operations teams to provide logistical support as required.


Damage Claims and International Paperwork:



  • Assist with damage claims and completion of international paperwork in compliance with organizational policies and governmental regulations.


Vendor Negotiations:



  • Conduct negotiations with vendors for transactional truckload quotes and warehousing work for forward staged jobs.


Transportation Recommendations:



  • Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency as necessary to optimize logistics operations.


Distressed Shipments Resolution:



  • Assist with distressed shipments by coordinating with third-party logistics providers (3PL) for resolution.


Policy and Procedure Development:



  • Contribute to the creation of policies, procedures, and freight training programs to enhance operational efficiency.


Personnel Training:



  • Train personnel from various departments in logistical best practices and cost-saving solutions.


Recordkeeping and Reporting:



  • Maintain metrics, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), reports, process documentation, logs, and safety records.



COMPETENCIES:



  • People-oriented, self-motivated, and flexible.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated success in vendor negotiation.
  • Detail-oriented, hands-on, and positive with a strong work ethic.
  • Knowledge of UPS/FedEx service offerings and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and communication with 3PL transportation companies.
  • Understanding of truckload and LTL tariff and logistics.



QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:



  • 1 - 2 years of experience in logistics management, preferably in small package, LTL, and dedicated truck bookings, or equivalent military or practical experience.
  • Experience with creating commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and SLIs for international shipments.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate's unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark's' benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
