ABOUT THE JOB
The Director of Engineering is responsible for all technical aspects of the sites manufacturing process equipment, services, and facilities. With a 'cradle to grave' approach, this position will specify, procure and project manage new technology installations, ensure world class uptime through maintenance and upgrades, and plan the retirement of aged assets and subsequent replacement. This position will lead corporate engineering initiatives to optimize manufacturing across 7 plants. Additionally, the Director of Engineering will manage and mentor an engineering team of 5.
* Collaborate across functional teams to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions
* Ensure engineering activities adhere to regulatory standards and safety protocols
* Identify production needs including new equipment installation, machine utilization, etc.
* Lead and project manage the design, development and implementation of infrastructure and process equipment ensuring compliance with safety, quality, performance, and cost requirements
* Initiate and execute the Management of Change (MOC) process for applicable projects
* Develop Long Range Capital plan (2-5 years) and annual capital plan
* Research advanced equipment and machinery to continue a culture of innovation
* Analyze manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost reduction
* Nurture a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
* Travel across sites and attend industry events to strengthen marketplace position
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor of Engineering degree or similar
* Minimum of 8 years of engineering management experience
* Food/beverage, FMCG or similar experience is required
* Carbonated soft drinks or bottled water experience preferred
* Proven experience working in a LEAN manufacturing environment
* Experience working in a highly regulated environment
* Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
* Ability to travel throughout central U.S. as required
* Relocation to the Greater Milwaukee area is required
