Additional Compensation Details

  • $27 - $35 per hourdependent on experience.

Job Description

Overview

The Global Procurement Associate is responsible for the purchasing of assigned items using existing procedures and tools. This role approves received purchase orders for vendor payment and is responsible for purchase order accuracy, including correct items and costs. You will be responsible for inventory management of assigned items, and help identify and report discrepancies. This role oversees the purchasing and distribution of packaging for grower-direct programs packed into our brands. Our ideal associate will consistently achieve or exceed budgeted variance dollar targets.

Responsibilities

  • Usebest practice for order writing and inventory management.
  • Followestablished buying cycles for assigned items.
  • Effectively manageproduct costing.
  • Followestablished inbound and intra-company logistics procedures.
  • Communicatepotential inventory issues, prorates, and cost changes in a timely manner.
  • Workwith vendors to resolve product damage and quality issues and/or quantity discrepancies, and related claims.
  • ManageUSDA inspection process when necessary.
  • Negotiaterevised billing resulting from USDA inspection reports when applicable.
  • Learnand achievekey performance indicators (KPIs) for fill rate, variance management, proper inbound freight maintenance, PO accuracy, contract compliance, and other assigned KPIs.
  • Consistently demonstrateownership of and responsibility for items managed.
  • Provideadministrative support to the Global department as needed.
  • Performother duties as assigned.

Schedule and Travel

  • Flexibility to arrive early or stay late as needed to address purchasing requirements.
  • Must also be available after hours via cell phone for product-related issues.
  • Rotating schedule may include Saturdays and Sundays.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Purchasing experience desired but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Able to set priorities, meet deadlines, and accomplish team objectives.
  • Able to observe and follow proper safety procedures, and willing to report potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Strong mathematical and writing abilities, including the capability to swiftly calculate cases, pallets, product costs, market values, and margins.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer competency, including Microsoft Suite, 10 key, Power Enterprise
