Position Purpose: The Plant Associate will ensure all waste is unloaded from vehicles, the vehicles are decontaminated, and waste is properly staged for scanning and processing. The individual will perform the duties in a safe and productive manner. Key Job Activities: * Unloads small container trucks, loading containers on conveyor system. * Operates various conveyor systems, ensuring containers are sent to the proper area for receiving/ sorting. * Scans waste into the S4 processing system for proper record keeping purposes. * Place reusable containers on tub wash line for decontamination. * Operates tub wash unit ensuring the wash unit is operating properly. * Removes clean tubs from wash unit, inspects tubs and stacks for loading onto assigned vehicle for reuse. * Inspects/ repairs all bins to ensure they are serviceable, removing from service those that are not, replacing with new. * Decontaminates vehicles cargo-carrying portion, reloads assigned reusable tubs and ensures cargo-carrying portion of vehicle does not have free liquid on the floor. * Informs plant supervisor the vehicle is ready to be moved from dock area. * Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned. Scope of Work Plant Associate, Incinerator is responsible for ensuring all small containers are received and accounted for properly. This will be done in a safe and efficient manner, following all processes and procedures set by the leadership team. This role will report directly to the Plant Supervisor. Experience * Ability to communicate effectively and understand and follow health and safety directives and performance and conduct standards, policies and procedures that apply to the role and location * 1 Year of Experience, preferably in plant environment * Driver's License Required Licenses and Required Competencies * Identifies major activities of, and services provided by, the operations function. * Locates and interprets standard and management reports on plant activities. Physical Requirements * Climbing - occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps and the like using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. * Crouching - occasionally bend the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. * Typing - frequently type with the fingers, and/or separate pages of documents, etc. * Grasping - frequently apply pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. * Hearing - constantly perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. * Kneeling - occasionally bend legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. * Lifting - frequently raise objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. Objects may weigh up to 75 pounds. * Pulling - frequently use upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion, including wheeled carts weighing up to 500 pounds. * Pushing - frequently use upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward, including wheeled carts weighing up to 500 pounds. * Reaching - frequently extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. * Repetitive motion - frequent substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers. * Seeing - constantly use visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations. * Sitting - rarely sit for sustained periods of time. * Standing - frequently stand for sustained periods of time. * Stooping - occasionally bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. * Talking - frequently expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. * Walking - constantly move about on foot to accomplish tasks. * Visual acuity - Must have close visual acuity to perform activities such as, preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, reading, filing papers, operating a vehicle, etc. * Work Environment - occasionally working in substantially hot or cold environments.
