Georgia State's Leadership and Service team prepares students for their public lives as citizens, members of communities and professionals in society by providing leadership development, civic education programming and community service opportunities.

Leadership and Service is currently searching for a Student Engagement Coordinator whose work will be to develop and manage Georgia State's Community Federal Work Study program, the "Community Impact Corps". Work outcomes include significantly increasing participation on all campuses, ensuring fiscal balance, ensuring federal compliance with site visits, and providing training and supervision that reflects high impact practices and alignment with the College to Career QEP.

Additionally, the Student Engagement Coordinator will serve as the primary administrator for PawsForACause, GSU's volunteer management system, with the goal to increase user-ship among students and community partners.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

* Provide the overall vision, leadership and direction for the Community Impact Corps, a year- round community federal work study program. Market and promote the Community Impact Corps and other community engagement opportunities via a robust web, social media and print presence.

* Develop outreach and program materials to communicate with potential and current Corps members and alumni. Recruit and select new Community Impact Corps members in collaboration with stakeholders from Admissions and Financial Aid.

* Supervision and Leadership: Design, facilitate and assess the educational model and structure for the Community Impact Corps including weekly meetings that foster leadership, critical reflection and active citizenship. Provide ongoing supervision to individual Community Impact Corps members including semester site visits. Monitor students' completion of hours and other program requirements and convene the process for reviewing the status of students who are not meeting those requirements.

* Serve as the primary administrator for PawsForACause, GSU's volunteer management system. With Assistant Director of Student Civic Engagement, develop and implement a strategic plan to increase user-ship among students and community partners. Provide troubleshooting, content for system, and regular messaging to users.

* Partnerships: Facilitate collaborations with Leadership and Service a range of internal and external organizations, including academic departments, Student Affairs, national and area non-profits. Enable GSU faculty, students, and staff to collaborate productively with external partners by making mutually agreeable arrangements for programs that facilitate engaged civic learning and student's volunteerism. Work with external partners to identify community challenges and opportunities, then work with faculty, staff, and students to create learning experiences consistent with those needs. Plan and facilitate community partner EXPO events, employer training and information sessions.

* Direct Service: Support individual students and student organizations engaging in service to Atlanta and the surrounding area: Coach students in identifying civic engagement opportunities that are aligned with their interests and career goals and in making a plan of action. Provide consultation to student organizational leaders in the development and facilitation of community engagement activities.

* Assessment: Develop a comprehensive, on-going assessment of programs, student needs, and preferences. Utilize assessment data to help determine student learning outcomes. Maintain electronic records and compile information for a variety of unit, department, division, and institutional reports that reflect participation data, student learning toward QEP competencies, and retention/progression/graduation rates of student participants.

Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

* Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities.

* Experience using student engagement software such as Givepulse, Anthology, Handshake Engage, Collegiate Link, OrgSync, etc.

* Experience managing various social media accounts, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and Hootsuite.

* Experience with Microsoft Office Programs, Zoom, Canva, and other platforms.
