Senior Landman - Viper

: This position will be a Diamondback employee who works for the subsidiary, Viper Energy Partners. The primary responsibility of the Senior Landman is to handle an assigned geographical area of Viper Energy's holdings. The Senior Landman will be responsible for the leadership of an asset area and will coordinate with teams and/or technical professionals to ensure the company objectives and goals are met.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Include but are not limited to:

  • Manage complex land assignments
  • Make recommendations regarding complex agreements, leases, and contracts
  • Provide technical and strategic advice on complex land negotiations
  • Oversee and manage mineral interests, including leasehold and royalty interests, ensuring maximum revenue generation.
  • Negotiate oil, gas, and mineral leases, surface use agreements, and other contracts to secure favorable terms.
  • Track royalty payments, production volumes, and lease obligations
  • Manage brokers and attorneys in title and curative matters as appropriate
  • Due diligence of acquisitions and divestitures
  • Maintain accurate records of leases, contracts, and revenue data using land management software.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Energy Management,Petroleum Land Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • At least five (5) years of progressive Land experience with at least three (3) of those being in-house
  • At least four (4) years of demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office, (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • High-level understanding of Land and exploration and production issues
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Permian Basin experience preferred
  • Member of AAPL
  • Aptitude to apply strategic thinking skills to identify and evaluate logically and creatively various factors that can have a current and future business impact
  • Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrate effective leadership skills
  • Possess a strong attention to detail and flexibility regarding workload and priorities while also maintaining commercial awareness and a broader view of a business situation
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proven track record of being able to problem solve and think creatively
  • Self-starter requiring minimal supervision
