The Hadland lab is seeking a Lab Aide (Work Study) to perform routine work in a collaborative laboratory environment researching the mechanisms of hematopoietic stem cell development and leukemogenesis. The focus of our lab is to unravel the dynamic intercellular interactions and signal pathways governing the generation of blood and immune cells during embryonic development and apply this knowledge toward engineering novel approaches for the study and treatment of blood and immune disorders.



Responsibilities

The Lab Aide will work under the close supervision of the PI, research mentor, and other lab personnel.

Job duties:

    Assist with experiments and data analysis
  • Perform simple, routine and repetitive laboratory tests and procedures as directed
  • Perform clerical duties as required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from High School or equivalent with interest in the sciences
  • Work study authorized

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Student from the University of Washington
  • Have taken computer science courses
  • Capable of programming

Off-Campus Work Study authorization is required for this position. All students must provide a Financial Aid Award Letter or an Authorization to work off-campus to verify their eligibility if selected for this position.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $20.76 to $29.54 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees access to a retirement savings plan, an employee assistance program, paid sick leave (1 hour for every 30 hours worked), and prorated paid holidays (up to 11 days per year).
