Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location(s): Dallas, TX

Job Description:

Mechanical Engineer job duties includes researching, planning, and designing mechanical and electromechanical products and systems for our clients robotic unmanned vehicles. Designs, develops, and tests all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc. Conducts product testing and creates models and prototypes. Mechanical Engineers are also responsible for directing and coordinating activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems. Reports to a manager/supervisor and works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.

The primary responsibilities of a Mechanical Engineer includes:


  • Researching and analyzing data including customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
  • Designing products or systems for robotic control using electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic principles and components.
  • Participating in fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
  • Coordinating operation, maintenance, and repair activities that optimize utilization of machines and equipment.
  • Designing products and systems to interface machines, hardware, and software.
  • Evaluating field installations and recommending design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Contribute to design reviews


Experience:


  • 0-2 years Mechanical Engineering related experience.
  • 0-2 years of machine & product design experience using Solid Works, Pro-E, or Catia.
  • Must have design experience in CAD/Solidworks software.
  • Have experience using math software like Matlab or Mathcad.
  • Must have good technical writing skills.


Qualification:


  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Basic understand or some experience with GD&T.
  • Familiar with stress analysis and thermal analysis.
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuit design.
  • Familiar with strength of materials.
  • Understanding of fatigue.
  • Familiar with Kinematics.
  • Experience with finite element analysis.
  • Some exposure to electrical engineering preferred.
