Salary Range: $16.00 to $17.50 /hour

SUMMARY STATEMENT

Under the direction of the Office Manager, this position is responsible for providing customer service, performing clerical and accounting duties related to processing customer payments, performing bank deposits for payments received, monthly statement distribution, reconciliation of various accounts and setting up new customer accounts.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide customer service via phone and face to face interactions. Involves being the customer contact for statement questions, account reconciling discrepancies, providing customer fuel delivery requests to Salesman, and various other customer requests.
  • Processing customer payments received via check, cash, credit card, and ACH within the Agvance accounting software.
  • Assist with properly setting up new customers within the Agvance software. Including appropriate demographic information, tax status for billing purposes, verifying proper credit approval, and assigning a customer number.
  • Perform bank deposits for cash and check payments received. Checks are deposited utilizing a remote deposit scanning technology.
  • Assist with monthly customer statement distribution.
  • Assist with write-offs of uncollectible balances and reconciliation of various accounts monthly.
  • Perform transfers among bank accounts as necessary.
  • Facilitate collection from overdue accounts as necessary.
  • Assisting with processing and distributing 1099-PATR to applicable individuals annually.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Maintaining organized files of deposited checks and shredding after applicable cycle of keeping them has been met.
  • Maintain the most accurate customer demographic information within the Agvance software by inputting updates and changes when necessary.
  • Assist other Corporate Office Staff with various projects as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven professional communication and customer service skills.
  • Associate degree in business communications, accounting, or the equivalent thereof, and/or prior work experience to demonstrate knowledge of basic accounting and business functions.
  • Computer proficient and knowledge of Microsoft Office products including excel, word, and outlook. As well as the ability to use the computer to enhance business processes.
  • Detail oriented and desire for accuracy.
  • Time management skills to efficiently organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
