Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Translational Bioinformatics Group Leader to lead a small, dynamic team dedicated to advancing the analysis of human genomic data in translational research. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in next-generation sequencing (NGS), single-cell genomics, and high-dimensional data analysis, integrating multi-omic datasets to extract meaningful biological insights with clinical relevance.

This role requires an exceptional combination of statistical rigor, computational proficiency, and biological acumen, ensuring the highest standards of data quality, statistical significance, and reproducibility. The successful candidate will work closely with laboratory scientists, clinicians, and external collaborators, translating complex genomic data into actionable insights that impact human health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in all aspects of genomic data analysis for single cell and spatial genomics, from raw data to clinically relevant insights.
  • Design and implement rigorous statistical frameworks to account for batch effects, confounding variables, and high-dimensional data complexities.
  • Develop and apply computational pipelines for single-cell NGS and spatial genomics data analysis.
  • Integrate multi-omics data (e.g., transcriptomics, proteomics) to generate novel biological insights.
  • Collaborate closely with lab scientists and clinicians to design studies, interpret results, and validate findings.
  • Stay at the forefront of bioinformatics methodologies and best practices, ensuring state-of-the-art approaches in genomic data analysis.
  • Publish in high-impact journals and present findings at top-tier scientific conferences.
  • Provide mentorship and hands on leadership to a small team of bioinformaticians and computational biologists.
  • Interface with external collaborators and stakeholders to drive research projects forward.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a related field, with a strong track record of impactful research.
  • Extensive experience in NGS and single-cell analysis, from raw data processing to interpretation of clinical phenotypes.
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages (R, Python) and bioinformatics tools for genomic data analysis.
  • Expertise in handling batch effects, normalization strategies, and high-dimensional data interpretation.
  • Demonstrated ability to extract biological meaning from large-scale genomic datasets.
  • Strong publication record in high-profile peer-reviewed journals.
  • Background in elite institutions, either through education or research training, is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in leading projects and collaborating with experimental scientists and clinicians.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively drive translational bioinformatics initiatives.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud computing and high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
  • Strong familiarity with machine learning applications in genomic data analysis.
