General Summary:

The ES3 Summer Internship Program's primary focus is on students who are contemplating a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM). We hope to encourage more students to pursue a life's work in a STEM field. STEM careers are traditionally recognized as providing some of the most intellectually and financially rewarding work opportunities. Lessor known is how rewarding STEM careers can be because of the benefit you can have on society. STEM scientists and engineers problem solve and design so that the human experience grows ever more healthy, elegant, and sustainable.

Although ES3 also provides summer internships to non-STEM students, our primary goal is to inspire students towards STEM. ES3 tries very hard to offer a position to every applicant. If we cannot accommodate all applicants, we will prioritize those with more schooling and those with STEM interests.

Under general supervision, the ES3 Summer Intern will work with Project Managers, Engineering Leads, IT Staff, Purchasing/Accounting Staff and/or other Office Administrators to support the accomplishment of ES3's high-end engineering services work within the Aerospace community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform assigned tasks that include work to support various engineering, administrative, operational and/or finance projects
  • Assist in managing the flow of paperwork, projects and deliverables as directed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Possess ability to timely execute assigned tasks
  • Support multiple programs and manage priorities
  • Ability to work independently and/or in teams on assigned projects
  • Excellent ability to communicate verbally and with written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand new concepts and apply them appropriately
  • Willingness and ability to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Education and Experience Required:
  • Must be a High School Junior, Senior or Enrolled College Freshman through Senior Student
    • High School Seniors (those students who have completed their Junior year of high school)
    • High School Juniors (those who have completed their Sophomore year of high school)
  • High School Juniors must have completed at least one year of Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, and/or computer Coding.
  • High School Juniors High School Juniors will be considered as space and resources permit
  • Previous summer internship experience welcomed but not required

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Hours of work to be determined with direct supervisor and are not to exceed 20 hours per week.

Travel & Benefits:

No travel is expected for this position. ES3 does not offer benefits to those working in a Summer Internship capacity. However, interns aged 21 and above will be automatically enrolled into the ES3 401(k) plan in the Roth investment option on 1st of the month following 30 days of employment.

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Applicants must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Applicants must have an ES3 Sponsor that is an active staff member.
