The Senior Director, Internal Communications is responsible for managing and overseeing internal communications across the company. This role serves as a strategic business partner to the Quest Leadership Teams, consulting on the development and driving company-wide communications. This role is instrumental in heightening employee awareness through various communications channels which includes understanding and engaging employees around corporate initiatives both internally and externally to deliver successful results. This position will be based in Secaucus, NJ (Hybrid).
- Develops and execute a comprehensive communication and engagement strategy and plan that aligns with Corporate Function and/or business goals and objectives, ensuring consistent and effective messaging to employees. This includes leading the creation and execution of an internal communication strategy aligned with Quest's Purpose-working together to create a healthier world, one life at a time-and our 5Cs: Customer First, Care, Collaboration, Continuous Improvement and Curiosity.
- Acts as the key communication partner to the HR leadership team and senior leadership team to develop communication strategy, consistent messaging and materials to ensure leaders are equipped to communicate effectively with employees. Creates, evaluates and implements effective communications approaches while building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and teams across the organization.
- Leads communication plans to support organizational changes which includes but is not limited to Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), restructuring, company strategy updates and other complex changes. Serves as a point of contact and strategic advisor for senior leaders, offering strategic advice on internal messaging to ensure employees are well-informed and supported throughout transitions. Provides counsel on change management communications and ensures seamless integration across all levels of the organization.
- Oversees the development of internal communications materials and campaigns to ensure messages are clear, engaging and aligned with company priorities. Develops, manages and shares Corporate Communication Standards, Guidelines and Best Practices for clear and consistent messaging aligned with organizational objectives. This includes crafting messages and strategies for company-wide initiatives, town halls and crisis communications across channels (e.g. intranet, newsletters, emails, video, presentations).
- Oversees the management of tools and platforms that deliver internal communications (e.g., intranet, email systems, collaboration tools and apps). Leverages technology to enhance communication flow, accessibility and employee interaction. Partners with Social and Website Leads to ensure alignment of Quest's cultural messaging on social media and web channels.
- Supports planning and execution of leadership meetings, frontline forums and other key events throughout the year.
- Stays up to date on the latest communication trends, best practices and technology to ensure strategies meet employees where they are and resonate with different audiences across Quest (levels, job families and functions).
- Develops and leads Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for internal communications efforts and will regularly measure the success of the campaigns. This includes providing feedback and insights to senior leadership teams on the effectiveness of communication strategies and initiatives.
- Leads, mentors, and develops a high-performing communications team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence. Provides guidance and ensures the team delivers high-quality content and messaging across all channels.
- Oversees and manages budget to ensure the efficient allocation of resources in support of strategic objectives. Aligns financial decisions with organizational priorities to ensure that all projects and campaigns are executed within budget and driving cost-effective solutions to maximize impact.
- Oversees, assesses and refines internal communications processes, workflows and systems to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Identifies bottlenecks and inefficiencies to implement solutions that improve productivity and output quality.
- Develops comprehensive project plans that include clear objectives, timelines, deliverables and performance metrics. Ensures all key stakeholders, including senior leadership teams, are aligned from the outset.
- BA/BS in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field; A Master's degree is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience within Communications. This includes experience with writing (at various levels of the organization), messaging tough issues and evaluation of the unintended consequences.
- Experience working in a matrixed, regulated industry preferred (approximately 40k employees) with frontline employees. Healthcare / Life-Sciences and Customer Experience are a strong plus.
- Proven track record of leading and developing a Communications team and talent.
- Omni channel and digital communications experience including technology enablement, video and app tools whose target audiences vary, from frontline employees to management and senior leaders.
- Ability to understand and communicate complex financial, legal, regulatory, and strategic issues.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products with strong expertise in PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel 20 - 25% primarily in the U.S. as needed to visit frontline employees, leaders, support events, attend conferences and partner locations.
- Ability to manage to a budget, negotiate and manage contracts and vendors.
