Maintains and processes payroll records and reports for the accounting of wages due, accruals, deductions and other payroll functions. Responsible for assigned daily timekeeping duties, ensuring employees are paid according to FLSA and contractual regulations. Interfaces with a variety of stakeholders including accounting, management, supervisors, corporate, external auditors, and others in a compliance role.

The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Payroll Assistant to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.

The key responsibilities of the Payroll Assistant include, but are not limited to:



  • Maintains various payroll records such as automatic bank deposit authorizations, payroll journals and ledgers; makes required adjustments through established procedure.
  • Verifies attendance, hours worked, pay adjustments and posts information onto designated records.
  • Prepares payrolls including deductions, accruals and pay adjustments.
  • Monitors the account distribution of the payroll expense including correcting prior distributions.
  • Balances or reconciles assigned payroll records; resolves and adjusts discrepancies; analyzes computer reports to identify and locate sources of error.
  • Gathers and analyzes payroll data; makes recommendations and prepares various payroll reports to be submitted to supervisor.
  • Makes and checks routine arithmetic calculations; posts figures and enters data on appropriate payroll documents and/or enters data in computer system.
  • Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Interprets, explains and recommends changes to rules and regulations as they relate to payroll.
  • Responds to questions and works to resolve issues with stakeholders outside of Payroll.


Salary: $42,000 - $55,000

    • 30 Minute Drive from Binghamton, NY
    • 20 Minute Drive from Oneonta, NY




The Person -

The key skills and qualities of a Payroll Assistant at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:



  • Associate's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience in payroll (2 years)
  • 3 years of payroll experience preferred
  • Proficiency with tax, compensation, wage structure, and employment law
  • Strong analytical skills, thorough attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Confidentiality
  • Proficiency with payroll software, DATA 3, and MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must possess broad operations knowledge with the ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, typing and computer work
  • Minimal lifting of paper supplies and document storage
